Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

These documents explain how Nora operates, how server data is handled, and the responsibilities of administrators who use the service.

Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By inviting, installing, or using Nora within a Discord server, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms you must remove the bot from your server.

2. Relationship with Discord

Nora operates through the Discord platform and relies on the Discord API. Users must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Violations of Discord policies may result in removal of access to the service.

3. Description of the Service

Nora is a community moderation and management tool designed for Discord servers. The service provides configurable tools that allow administrators to automate moderation workflows, manage server settings, and improve community interaction.

4. Moderation Responsibility

Nora provides automation tools but does not replace human moderation. Server administrators remain fully responsible for moderation decisions, role assignments, and the configuration of automated systems.

5. Command and Permission Usage

Nora operates using the permissions granted to it by server administrators. Commands may only execute actions that the bot has been granted permission to perform. Improper permission configuration may result in unexpected behavior.

6. AI Assistance Features

Some Nora features include AI-generated responses or automated moderation suggestions. These systems are designed to assist moderators and improve usability, but they are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or appropriate in all situations.

AI features may process user-provided input to generate responses. This processing may involve temporary handling of message content for context. Users should avoid submitting sensitive, personal, or confidential information when interacting with AI systems.

AI outputs should be reviewed by server administrators before being relied upon for moderation or decision-making. Nora does not assume responsibility for actions taken based on AI-generated content.

7. Feature Availability

Features may be updated, modified, or removed at any time as the service evolves. New features may be introduced as part of development improvements.

8. Acceptable Use

Users may not use Nora for unlawful activity, harassment, data harvesting, or attempts to abuse the Discord platform.

9. Service Availability

Nora is provided on an "as available" basis. Service interruptions may occur due to infrastructure maintenance, software updates, or external service issues.

10. Termination

Access to the service may be suspended or restricted if the system is abused or used in violation of these Terms.

11. Payments and Subscriptions

All payments for Nora premium features are handled exclusively through Discord's official subscription system.

Subscriptions are managed within Discord under the server or user subscription settings interface. Nora does not directly process, store, or have access to payment information such as credit cards or billing details.

Billing, refunds, and subscription management are governed by Discord’s own policies and systems. Users should refer to Discord’s subscription settings for any payment-related actions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nora and its developer are not liable for damages resulting from service interruptions, configuration errors, or moderation outcomes performed through the system.

Privacy Policy

1. Privacy-First Design

Nora is designed with privacy as a core principle. The system only processes the minimum data necessary for functionality.

2. Operational Data

The system may store limited operational information required to function. This includes server identifiers, configuration settings, and command usage triggers.

3. Server Configuration Data

Configuration settings may include enabled features, configured channels, role identifiers, moderation settings, and leveling configuration information.

4. Message Processing

Message content may be temporarily processed for moderation filters or AI context. This processing occurs in memory and is not permanently stored unless a specific feature requires it.

5. AI Data Handling

When AI features are used, message content may be processed to generate responses. This processing is limited to what is necessary to produce the requested output.

Nora does not use server data to train AI models. Any AI-related processing is performed for real-time functionality only and is not used to build or improve external datasets.

Users should avoid submitting sensitive personal information when using AI features, as with any online AI system.

6. Leveling System Data

When the leveling system is enabled, Nora may record user activity indicators such as message events or interaction counts to calculate progression.

7. Join Event Processing

When a server enables the welcome system, Nora listens for member join events to generate welcome messages.

8. Data Isolation

Each server's data is isolated. Data generated in one server is never shared with or visible to other servers.

9. Data Sharing

Nora does not sell, rent, or distribute server data to third parties. Data collected is used solely for operating the service.

10. Data Retention

Data is retained only as long as necessary for the feature that generated it. Removing Nora from a server deletes configuration data associated with that server.

11. Security Practices

Reasonable security practices are implemented to protect configuration data from unauthorized access.

12. Payment Information

Nora does not collect, store, or process payment information directly. All payments and subscriptions are handled through Discord’s official systems.

As a result, Nora has no access to billing details such as payment methods, transaction data, or financial information.

13. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated periodically as the system evolves. Updated versions will be published on the Nora website.
